Two months ago, I received an offer from a well-known brand, but I am not one hundred percent behind it. I don’t feel comfortable with that. The offer contained six figures for the entire campaign – said Schmidt, but she did not reveal which company it was.
She previously said that the earnings from athletics in Germany are not enough for a normal life.
In principle, it is not easy for most German runners to make a living from sports. Of course you can earn money through competitions. Most contests don’t make any money. Personally, I could not live on those amounts alone, because for many competitions there are still travel and accommodation costs, which are not always covered – said Schmidt and then added.
Most of us study part-time to create another source of income, or even have mini-jobs that we do on the way.
Alica normally competes in races over 400 meters, and when asked by a Bild journalist if she could beat Kylian Mbappe at that distance, she pointed out that she could probably beat any soccer player, not just him.
